Brendan Hannan
Laboratory Manager & Agronomist
Brendan Hannan has worked for the New Zealand Sports Turf Institute since 1993 as an agronomist and laboratory manager. Brendan is the Institute’s construction and maintenance materials expert, providing the turf industry with in-depth knowledge of sports turf materials available in New Zealand and their testing and assessment.
Brendan also teaches on numerous sports turf management programmes in New Zealand and abroad, and has been a guest lecturer at Massey University.
In addition to his expertise in the construction and maintenance of sports turf areas, Brendan specialises in performance testing of sports turf surfaces and their components.
Brendan holds the following qualifications or accreditations that relate to his role:
Bachelor Horticultural Science
National Certificate in Adult Education and Training
Certified Biosecurity Transitional Facility Operator
World Bowls Accredited Synthetic Greens Tester
