David Howard

David Howard is New Zealand’s most experienced and undoubtedly one of the most respected turf agronomists. David, who joined the New Zealand Sports Turf Institute in 1981, is based in Dunedin and provides agronomy services (cricket, golf, bowls, winter sports pitches, schools, etc) to clients throughout the South Island. David is a regular contributor to field days, seminars and technical meetings in the region.
He has written numerous technical articles and given over 200 presentations (at conferences and seminars) both in New Zealand and overseas. David was one of the editors of the bowls greenkeeping bible “Establishment and Management of Natural Bowling Greens in New Zealand”.
David’s significant contribution to the bowls turf industry has not gone unnoticed. David was awarded a Bowls New Zealand Merit Award in 2008 for his service to the bowls greenkeeping fraternity.
